How Ductless Hoods Work

Ductless fume hoods move air in principle similar to that of conventional vented or ducted hood, except ductless hoods are self contained and re-circulate air back into the lab after filtration occurs. Ductless fume hoods use a combination of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters or advanced Activated Carbon Filtration technology to remove particulates or molecules (vapors) from the air stream and bond them into the filter bed.

Ductless Advantages

No installation costs – Simply place the cabinet on a bench and connect to an electrical supply. No external ducting, building work or changes to heating and ventilation systems

Energy efficient operation – Recirculatory airflow eliminates the need for laboratory make-up air and integration into ventilation system controls.

Continuous airflow monitoring – Integral electronic airflow monitoring with face velocity control for increased operator safety.

Continuous filter saturation monitoring – Integral ‘real time’ electronic gas sensor for carbon filter monitoring.

Environmental benefits – Activated Carbon filters retain / neutralize pollutants eliminating harmful discharge to the environment.

Adaptable – Hood may be easily re-positioned or filters changed to suit new requirements at anytime.
